For those of you following this blog, apologies for not posting for a while. I was finalising my latest book, a military biography of my grandfather, Lt Col John Charles Robertson (‘Robbie’) who was killed near Bakri, Malaya (now Malaysia) on 18 January 1942 on the first day of his (2/29th Australian) Battalion’s encounter with a Battalion of the Japanese Imperial Guards.
The book is mostly based on a series of over 100 personal letters written by Lt Col Robertson to his wife Dorie, from 1940 until 16 January 1942, and includes additional biographical and contextual information.
